Introduction

​Dr. Lubineau is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at KAUST. He assumed his duties in July 2009, and has set up the Composite and Heterogeneous Materials Analysis and Simulation Laboratory (COHMAS), an integrated laboratory for controlled composite science, from the process to the characterization, modeling, simulation and the validation.

Research Interests

His current research interest are:
  • Inverse methods for identification of constitutive equations,
  • Composites micro and mesomechanics, damage and fracture mechanics,
  • Multimodelling approaches, computational coupling strategies,
  • Nanoreinforced composites,
  • Experimental techniques for composite identification,
  • Non-local mechanics,
  • Controlled identification based on 3D tomography,
  • Bridging domain techniques.

  2. M. Alfano and G. Lubineau presented within the European Adhesion Conference, September 16-20, 2012, Friedrichshafen, Germany (award sponsored by JOWAT AG, Detmold, Germany).
  3. "Loctite-Henkel Research Award" 2011 was awarded to Dr. Alfano while he was member of my team for our research activity on identi cation of composite joints.
